At some point in her early childhood at Sellwood School, she was diagnosed with a hearing loss. The remedy at the time was to sit at the 'front of the class', as she did throughout her education. Since 2002, Kathy has been using hearing devices to correct her problem of misunderstanding as an Avada patient. Being a patient herself has given her a better understanding of her patients and the passion to help others hear better.

Kathy understands the importance of taking the time to really listen to her patients. She creates an environment where open and honest communication can take place and her patients can make decisions about their hearing needs based on facts, all without the feeling of being rushed or pressured.

Kathy's knowledge in communication disorders have helped improved the quality of life for many people in his community. While using state of the art equipment and technology, Kathy provides an array of screenings, hearing tests, aural rehabilitation and has expansive knowledge of both conventional and digital instruments.
