To spread awareness about hearing health we are involved in our local YMCA health fair every year. In addition, we frequently visit local senior facilities including Scandia nursing home, Algoma nursing home, and the Sturgeon Bay Senior Center. We also offer free hearing screenings for the residents of Algoma and Kewaunee.

Nadeen DeFere, M.S., is the Clinical Audiologist that serves the Door and Kewaunee counties. Don’t hesitate to call me with any questions.
Raised in Crandon , Wisconsin, Nadeen earned her Masters of Science degree in Audiology from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1995 and her degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1993. She has successfully completed advanced training course at Avada’s National Training Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
She is committed to helping those with speech understanding problems lead a fuller life. By combining integrity and compassion, she has a unique ability to explain the strategies of treating hearing loss. She understands the importance of taking the time to really listen to her patients. Nadeen creates an environment where open and honest communication can take place and her patients can make decisions about their speech understanding needs without feeling rushed or pressured. Her commitment to excellent patient care is evident with each and every patient. She truly believes, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”.
Nadeen’s knowledge in communication disorders has helped a wide range of patients, including both adults and children with hearing loss. Here at Avada, she provides screenings, aural rehabilitation and has an expansive knowledge of both conventional and digital hearing instruments.
With over 23 years of experience, she’s dispensed and adjusted thousands of hearing devices and is an expert in early detection and treatment of speech understanding problems. She is accepting new patients and welcomes the opportunity to help those who hear conversation but have trouble understanding it.
Nadeen and her husband Dean live in the Brussels area with their two wonderful children. She enjoys scrapbooking, the outdoors, and spending time with her family and their yellow lab Miley.
