Anita Slate is a Hearing Instrument Specialist that serves the Marion, NC office. She is a native of Catawba, NC. She joined Avada in October of 2016. Prior to her arrival at Avada, Ms. Slate has worked for an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist office for more than 16 years. During this time she obtained her Hearing Instrument Specialist licensure. She has been a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist since 2007.
Anita is committed to helping those with speech understanding problems lead a fuller life. With her experience working in a specialist practice, helping people communicate with their family is her true passion. By combining integrity and compassion, she has a unique ability to explain the strategies of treating hearing loss and understands the importance of taking the time to really listen to her patients. Anita creates an environment where open and honest communication can take place and her patients can make decisions about their speech understanding needs without feeling rushed or pressured.
Anita’s commitment to excellent patient care is evident with each and every patient. Her knowledge in the hearing aid field has helped a wide range of patients with hearing loss. Here at Avada, she provides screenings, a battery of hearing tests, aural rehabilitation and has an expansive knowledge of hearing instruments. Expertly trained in the new wireless hearing instrument connectivity technology, she has a distinctive approach to demonstrating how today’s modern hearing devices connect directly to her patient’s cell phones, home phones and televisions.
With years of experience, Anita has dispensed and adjusted thousands of hearing devices and is an expert in early detection and treatment of speech understanding problems. She is accepting new patients and welcomes the opportunity to help those who hear conversation but have trouble understanding it. Anita is excited to help others take a step toward better communication.
